FTV 136 The Campus Campaign & Mumford High School
In this episode of From the Vault, BBC collaborator Joanne Griffith visits Mumford High School in Detroit, Michigan, to help launch our Campus Campaign initiative, a new project designed to bring Pacifica Radio Archives’ historic recordings out of the vault and into the classroom. Mumford High School students, working with Joanne, create an original interpretation of these recordings using music of their choosing. The result is a surprising tapestry of emotions arising from students hearing these voices for the first time. Special guest include Mumford High School Principal Linda Spight, Mumford High School Social Studies teacher Tiffany Cox, Pacifica Radio Archives Director Brian DeShazor and students from Mumford High School. This special From the Vault owes its creation to songwriter, artist, and multimedia artist Allee Willis (www.alleewillis.com), Mumford High School graduate, and dear friend of Pacifica Radio Archives.
From the Vault is proudly presented as part of the Pacifica Radio Archives Preservation and Access Project.
